Most of us are hunting out our passports, getting a few Euros sorted out and finding a suitcase as we will travel to Mons this coming weekend. We are travelling to participate in the events surrounding the centenary of the Armistice that brought fighting on the Western Front to an end on 11th November 1918. It was also on that day that Mons was liberated by Canadian troops. And at the beginning of WW1 it was Mons that was the site of the first major battles involving the British Expeditionary Force.
Events are taking place on both Saturday and Sunday. We will be involved in the events on Sunday afternoon, between around 14.00 and 16.30 UK time. For those who might be interested the Belgian Tourist Office Wallonia is planning to stream events live on Facebook. Look out for that on their Facebook page.
