Here are some of the social and other events which the Society has enjoyed recently. LHMF
Quiz night: On May 19th LCS played host to the annual Leith Hill quiz night.
Fish and chips, wine, a raffle, great company and one of John's fiendish quizzes
made for an evening of hard-fought but good-humoured competition in the true Leith
Hill spirit.Summer Concert Our
summer Concert on June 30th was very successful. Take a look at the photo
album. Elgar's Dream: On July 8th a group of LCS singers sang "Dream of Gerontius" at the Royal Albert Hall with The Really Big Chorus. In total around ,2000 singers joined with LHMF Conductor, Brian Kay, and the English Festival Chorus to perform Elgar's masterpiece. Body shop evening: On July 11th Several members of the choir spent a very enjoyable evening drinking wine, eating nibbles and playing with make-up at the Body Shop Evening. Stella very kindly hosted the evening and Marie showed us all the lasted Body Shop products. We had great fun passing round all the samples and trying them out. By the end of the evening we were all a little smoother, had a little less money and were definitely more glittery than we had been when we arrived. Very many thanks to Stella for hosting the event and to Marie for running the evening and for donating the profits to LCS. ![]() Barbeque: On July 21st we dodged occasional showers in Richard's gazebo and munched burgers and salad while the kids played hide-and-seek in the garden. Great fun! Once again, thanks to Richard and Marie for all their hard work and the use of their garden. |
